Title of Research Study: Studying Search Behavior of Individuals Seeking Sexual Identity Information
(IRB University of Minnesota #STUDY00022033)
Principle Investigators:
Dr. Stevie Chancellor, University of Minnesota, Computer Science & Engineering
Thank you for your interest in this study. It would be helpful to us to see if you are likely to qualify to be in the study. In order to do this, we would like to ask you some eligibility questions, which will include questions about your age, location, and search engine usage. If you qualify we will ask for the best way to contact you and to provide some demographic information. It should take about 10 minute to go through these questions.
Some of the questions may make you uncomfortable; you do not have to answer any question that you would not like to answer, but without answers to these questions, you may not be eligible to participate in the study. If you do qualify for and are invited to join the study, this screening information will become part of your participant record, and we will keep this information secure. If you qualify but are not invited to participate, your information will be deleted one week into the study, as up until that point you may still be invited to participate. If you do not qualify for this study, we will immediately destroy any information we have collected. This data is being collected on Qualtrics; you can find privacy information on Qualtrics at https://www.qualtrics.com/privacy-statement/
If you have any questions about the screening questions or the study, please contact the principal investigators, Dr. Stevie Chancellor, at steviec@umn.edu. We are also required to give you the number of University of Minnesota IRB, the Ethics Board that is overseeing our research: (612) 625-1650, in case you have any questions or concerns for them.
