Nursing practice area
I am interested in being a volunteer in the following area(s):
Alumni Society Board
Consider serving as an advocate for the School of Nursing and the nursing profession by applying for a position on the Nursing Alumni Society Board. Share your expertise and nurture strong relationships among alumni. Applications are being accepted until June 30 for three-year terms that will begin in August. Members attend meetings (in person or electronically) every other month to foster a community of nursing students, alumni and faculty that will enrich the professional lives of our members and strengthen the School. Applicants of all ages, the School’s degree programs, and geographic locations are invited to apply.
Young Alumni Council
With the goal of creating and sustaining meaningful connections with recent graduates, the School of Nursing Alumni Society is establishing a Young Alumni Council. To be founded in 2011, the Council will include alumni who have graduated within the past 10 years. Targeted event planning, networking opportunities, membership participation, marketing campaigns and emerging communication channels will be directed toward the School’s growing young alumni demographic.
The School of Nursing Alumni Heritage Committee seeks history buffs to join its work in preserving and informing others about the history of the School. Since the committee works mornings on the first and third Mondays each month, we encourage individuals with a passion for nursing history and flexible daytime schedules to consider joining the group.
Help your fellow classmates stay engaged and connected with the School of Nursing and the greater University. Assist with reunion planning and class activities.
Volunteer (Annual Spring Celebration, Speed Mentoring, Benefit Jewelry sale, etc.) Assist on an occasional basis with upcoming activities and special events.
